Dr. Edwin Lee

A digital first family practice

With just a few clicks, you can schedule, modify, or cancel appointments hassle-free through our patient portal. Enjoy the convenience of receiving appointment reminders directly to your preferred communication channel.

Please note that missed appointments or those not canceled at least 24 hours in advance may incur a fee.

Our “Phone First Triage” system prioritizes assessing your health concerns over the phone with a clinician. Instead of visiting the clinic directly, call us to share your symptoms or concerns. Our clinician will then determine the best course of action, which could include advice over the phone, a video consultation, or an in-person visit if necessary. This system ensures you receive the right care at the right time, reducing unnecessary clinic visits. It’s part of our commitment to providing efficient, safe, and convenient healthcare.

Urgent Requests and Response Time

Urgent requests are promptly addressed upon receipt. We aim to respond to all requests within 24 hours to ensure you receive timely care and attention.

As such, you are responsible for the associated Missed Appointment fee, which must be paid prior to your next visit with your doctor. If there are extenuating circumstances that caused you to miss an appointment, please ask to speak with your physician.

We have a “No Walk-In Policy” in place to ensure the best possible care for our patients and maintain continuity of care with your primary physician.

When patients seek care outside our clinic, such as visiting walk-in clinics or other healthcare providers, several issues can arise:

Lack of Communication: Walk-in clinics often do not communicate the care received back to the patient’s primary physician, leading to gaps in medical history and potential duplicate tests or treatments.

Disruption of Continuity of Care: Seeking care outside our clinic disrupts the continuity of care with your primary physician, who is familiar with your medical history, ongoing treatments, and individual healthcare needs.

Impact on Funding: Additionally, care received outside our clinic can impact our ability to provide comprehensive care and manage chronic conditions effectively, as it may affect our clinic’s funding.

By staying within our clinic, you ensure continuous communication and coordination of care, allowing us to provide comprehensive and personalized healthcare tailored to your needs.

Thank you for understanding and adhering to our “No Walk-In Policy.”

We are using the Cortico platform better engage with our patients so that you are able to get more out of your care experience.

We are able to provide appointment reminders, follow up messages about results, lab/imaging requisitions and more.

Please provide the office with your email address to start receiving these communications.

We’re fortunate to have excellent healthcare funded by the Ministry of Health through our taxes. However, as our population ages, healthcare costs rise, leading to more services not covered by the Ministry. Administering these services demands significant time and resources, with demand growing rapidly in recent years. Due to rising expenses and government limitations, we can no longer offer these services for free. Patients or agencies requesting these services are now responsible for payment.

You have two options to address these fees. The first is an annual “block fee” covering uninsured services for a year, which many patients prefer. Alternatively, you can pay for individual services at the time of each service provided.

It is not always necessary for you to make an appointment to have a prescription renewed.

If you need repeats, ask your pharmacy to fax a prescription renewal request to 7-10 days before your are due to run out.

It is very important that you don’t wait until the last minute to do this as your doctor requires at least 48-72 hours for all prescription repeats to be sent to your pharmacy.

If you require a prescription within 48 hours, there is a $20 convenience fee to complete this request.

If you have a health concern outside of our regular clinic hours, we are available to help you.

  • Call us at 1-866-553-7205
  • You’ll then be connected with a licensed telehealth nurse who can speak with you about your health concern and you will be directed to the on-call physician when appropriate.

On call service is available on weekdays after 5pm and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday, including holidays.

If you feel your health condition may be life-threatening, immediately call 911 for Emergency Medical Services.
